Understanding the Meaning Behind behaviors

Parent—focused Therapy in Livonia MI

Parenting Classes available throughout the USA

You have already tried everything. Your child feels out of control, and you are frustrated, exhausted, and unsure of what to do next. Perhaps you and your partner parent differently, creating even more tension at home. Or maybe you have recently welcomed a baby and are struggling with endless crying, exhausting sleepless nights, feeding difficulties, and this constant feeling that you are not doing it right.

Parent-focused therapy can help you feel better equipped and more confident in your role. Together, we move beyond approaching behavior as a problem and focus on understanding what your child is trying to communicate without even involving your child.

Understanding the needs behind a behavior is often the key to bringing more calm, connection, and control to family life.

What to expect from working with me:

  • Instead of trying to fix behaviors and problems, together we work to understand what your child may be communicating through them.

  • We explore your child's developmental stage, emotional needs, strengths, and struggles before any treatment.

  • We discuss what is developmentally expected, what may be signaling distress, and how children communicate feelings long before they can put them into words.

  • You will learn how to recognize emotional signals, respond in age-appropriate ways, and set realistic expectations that support healthy growth and family happiness.

  • You will leave with knowledge, practical tools, rules of thumb and strengthened sense of self and parenting skills.

Strong leaders build strong teams and parents are the leaders children need most!

So Far …

A group of people, including children and adults, wearing denim jackets, are sitting outdoors in a forest with trees and sunlight filtering through the leaves, holding hands and facing away from the camera.

→ You are tired of yelling and feeling guilty afterwards

→ It’s hard to put boundaries and get your kids to listen

→ You feel hurt and disrespected

→ It is too difficult to avoid arguments with your partner about the kids

→ Your kids always overreact and nothing goes smoothly in the house

→ Parenthood has brought up sadness, anxiety, fear and other difficult and confusing feelings

→ You are stressed with your newborn and tired of ineffective advice coming from pediatricians and family members

It’s time to gain control and enjoy parenting!

Parenting Classes/Parenting Counseling/ Individual Relationship-based Therapy

Hi! In my work, I emphasize that children don’t simply misbehave, they communicate. When we begin to understand the message behind a behavior, relationships soften, connection and calm can be restored. My goal is simple: to help make parenting feel easier, more confident, and ultimately, more fulfilling.

Over the past 14 years of working with kids and being a mom myself, I’ve come to understand something fundamental: young children rarely develop difficulties in isolation, they borrow from us. They borrow our emotional world as they learn how to navigate both their inner experiences and the world around them. Development begins with co-regulation before it becomes self-regulation, which is why working through the parent is often the most effective and meaningful path.

I truly believe that parents already hold an intuitive understanding of what their children need, sometimes they just need support in how to access and apply it. With that in mind, I’ve created an online space where I meet with parents to explore their own and their child’s behaviors and inner struggles.

Connected to yourself, connected to your child!

Let’s fix your family puzzle together!

Parenting Classes

These classes are designed to help parents better understand their children and feel more confident in their parenting. You will learn what may be driving behaviors such as tantrums, meltdowns, aggression, anxiety, ADHD symptoms, sleep struggles, picky eating, morning anxiety and other common childhood challenges. Rather than focusing only on stopping behaviors, we explore what children may be communicating through them.

Parenting Counseling

These meetings offer personalized parenting support tailored to your child's unique needs and your family's goals. While our educational classes focus on specific topics such as anger, hyperactivity, meltdowns, sleep and eating difficulties and other developmental difficulties, individual consultations provide guidance that is centered entirely on your family.

Relationship-based Therapy

Parenting, pregnancy, and family life can stir up emotions and challenges that are far deeper than many people expect. While educational classes provide knowledge and practical tools, and parenting consultations focuses on understanding and responding to your child's needs, individual therapy offers an opportunity to turn inward and explore your own experiences more deeply.
